Is Fire In Forest Beneficial or Harmful

Forest fires, fire types and fire effects

Every year, wildfires occur in some parts of the world, killing thousands of wildlife. Many rare species of animals and plants become the fuel for fires.

Forest fires start for a variety of reasons. Lightning strikes due to natural causes, dry weather due to which the grass has dried up and large boulders falling can be the cause of forest fires. However, today the cause of forests is man himself.

Types of fire.

1) Ground fire

When organic matter i.e. grass and wood piles up in one place in the forest, the risk of fire increases in it. Now if a fire breaks out in these piles, this type of fire is called superficial fire. This type of fire lasts for a short time and does not cause any significant damage. If there is moisture in the inside of the pile, then it takes more time to extinguish the fire.

2) Surface fire

They are more common in grassy areas. This is because this type of fire spreads on the surface of the earth and burns all the weeds that come in its way. This type of fire is short-lived and it is also less harmful.

3) Crown fire

This type of fire is the most dangerous and it causes the most damage. Every year thousands of animals die due to it and the whole forest turns to ashes. The tree burns. It spreads from one tree to another. The Crownfire produces a temperature of about 704 degrees Celsius and burns almost everything in its path to ashes.

The effects of fire

Fires injure overgrown trees, causing germs to attack the injured areas.

However, fire is beneficial for many types of trees and helps in their growth.
